Continental Maternity Care

Give your baby a great start.

Congratulations! Pregnancy is an exciting time. You’ll experience many changes, emotions and questions. Maternity Care provides you with information and support throughout your pregnancy. Once enrolled, you have access to maternity case managers who are registered nurses with experience in obstetrics, as well as access to a registered nurse 24/7 to answer your questions.

Maternity Care is a program Continental offers through BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina. It’s open to eligible expectant mothers (Continental employees or spouses) 18 and older, when the expectant mother is currently enrolled in our BlueCross medical plan. Enrolling is easy! Simply call 855-838-5897 (select option 4) once your pregnancy is confirmed. Hours are 8:30 a.m. – 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. Friday. You can leave a message after hours.

Or you can enroll online. Visit www.SouthCarolinaBlues.com and log in to your My Health Toolkit® account. Select the Wellness tab, then Health Coaching, My Activity Center and select Assessments to find and complete the maternity assessment.

If you or your spouse are the expectant mother and enrolled in a BlueCross Blue Shield of South Carolina medical plan, there’s a special reward for enrolling in the Maternity Care program — a $50 Amazon gift card.

If you or your spouse were enrolled in the Maternity Care program while expecting, and you enroll your newborn in Continental’s medical plan within 30 days of birth, you will receive an additional $50 Amazon gift card.

Tobacco Cessation

Quitting tobacco is hard! We’re committed to giving you tools that support your health, including a free tobacco cessation program to help you quit tobacco products — for good. 

The My Health PlannerSM app can help you kick the habit for good. The My Health Planner tobacco cessation program guides you through a complete program to help you:

  • Decide if you’re ready to quit.
  • Develop a quit plan.
  • Pick a quit date.
  • Identify and avoid your triggers.
  • Manage cravings, stress and weight.

All members 18 and older have access to up to 180 days of tobacco cessation medication at $0 member cost-share.

If you need help to quit smoking or using tobacco products, these preventive medications are available at $0 cost share.

To qualify, you need to:

  • Be age 18 or older*.
  • Get a prescription for these products from your doctor, even if the products are sold over the counter.
  • Fill the prescription at a network pharmacy.

Up to 180 days of treatment are covered at no cost each year. Maximum daily dose quantity limits apply. OTC medications:

  • Nicotine replacement gum
  • Nicotine replacement lozenge
  • Nicotine replacement patch Prescriptions
  • Bupropion sustained release (generic Zyban) tablet

These three prescription medications are covered after members have tried 1) one over-the-counter nicotine product and 2) bupropion sustained release (generic Zyban) separately:

  • Varenicline tablet
  • Nicotrol inhaler
  • Nicotrol nasal spray

*The listed age limits are based on U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recommendations; coverage for additional populations may also apply as required.

When you need help, this free app:

  • Puts you in control of your health.
  • Ensures you understand what you need to do to feel your best.
  • Keeps track of what you need to do between doctor’s visits.
  • Lets you stay in touch with your care management team.
  • Manage your health or a family member’s.

My Health Planner is available for smartphones and tablets. My Health Planner is free for eligible members.

Get Help Now

  1. Search for My Health Planner in the App Store or Google Play.
  2. Download the My Health Planner app and select Create New Account.
  3. Use access code: mphcontinental.

When you download the free My Health Planner app, you’ll be paired with your very own care manager who can help with your unique health and benefits needs.

  • The checklist will have a daily list of tasks to complete and helpful articles to read — all tailored to your health needs or goals.
  • You can securely chat with your care team to ask health and benefits questions on your own time.
  • You can set up reminders on your phone to help keep track of medications and appointments.
  • The Me tab shows a summary of progress over time.
  • You can read articles curated specifically for you in the Library.
